Coal Office

About Coal Office

A meal at Coal Office is definitely one you won’t forget. Expect a culinary journey of discovery thanks to the collaborative efforts of the two visionaries at its helm: designer Tom Dixon and famed Israeli restaurateur Assaf Granit.

This immersive dining experience mirrors the unique, engaging traditions found throughout the Middle East & Mediterranean. Operating across three floors in London’s King’s Cross, Coal Office’s menu explores the flavours, spices, and textures of traditional, Mediterranean family-sharing style meals. Tom Dixon has designed every inch of The Coal Office to be a calming space with monochrome palettes and rustic, textured backdrops juxtaposed with modern, contemporary interior design features.

Brunch at Coal Office

Coal Office’s menu is fresh, creative and experimental and will leave you savouring every single bite. To pay homage to both creatives who dreamt up this restaurant, the menu takes inspiration from Jerusalem-born Granit’s homeland. Coupled with the flavours, spices and textures of dishes stretching along the Mediterranean from the Middle East to North Africa, Coal Office manages to create something truly new, interesting and magical.

The brunch menu is extensive. Its vibrant sharing plates include small plates and in-betweens featuring butter-drenched kubalah bread, fresh salads, chicken liver, steamed trout, and their famous shakshuka. The larger mains are everything you want from a Mediterranean brunch feast. Sample the beef sirloin with mustard and bitter greens, stone bass with aubergine pesto, perfectly cooked octopus accompanied by truffle harissa sauce and the tried-and-tested pulled leg of lamb.
