The George, Pub & Restaurant

About The George

Steeped in over 300 years of history, The George is a Tudor-style pub with a wonderfully cosy atmosphere. Head Chef Richard Saunders has brought The George’s menus to life with the best and freshest local, seasonal ingredients to create tempting British cuisine.

The George pub is open all week, offering guests an exciting, modern British menu, as well as exceptional Sunday roasts. The newly refurbished first-floor dining room, now called The Pig and Goose, offers an upscale experience of classic British cuisine in fine dining style.

With its red leather sofas, ornate carved fireplaces, wooden accents, and external Tudor panelling, The George has a distinctive traditional and vintage feel. It’s everything you could want from an old English pub steeped in centuries of history – and it’s only ten minutes out from the West End.

Brunch at The George

The everyday menu at The George brims with traditional pub grub options. These include a short rib and flank burger, cider-battered fish and chips, and roast duck breast, as well as bar snacks, starters, and sharers to munch on while you enjoy your pint.

If you’re visiting on a Sunday, however, The George’s exquisite roasts with all the trimmings aren’t to be missed. These include a butter-roasted Yorkshire chicken stuffed with sage and onion, as well as a slow-roasted pork belly with a caramelised apple puree. Wash your roast down with a range of craft beers including a rotating roster of local and national real ales, and a selection of wines and spirits.
